There is ONE strategy you can use today to grow your following, get traffic and actually make sales through your Facebook page.

Want to know more? Keep reading.

Hi! My name is Mei Pak and I help makers, artists and designers make a consistent income selling their handmade products online. In this post, I'm going to share with you my Giveaway Funnel strategy that can make you sales with a very low budget.

A few things you'll need to make this funnel strategy work is:

  • a Facebook Business Page
  • Some followers, although you don't need to have a lot. Literally, just a hundred people is fine to start with for doing this.
  • A website where people can buy from
  • An email service provider. You can use something like Mailchimp, although my personal favorite is MailerLite. Both are free to use.

Most likely, you already have all of those things in place.

The overall strategy is centered around a giveaway. You're going to funnel the giveaway participants to join your email list. Then when your giveaway is over and you announce the winner, you're going to offer everyone else who joined a coupon code to shop from you.

Now that you know the overall strategy, it's time to dive into the details you need in order for this to work well.

The Giveaway Details

Your Products

The first part of this is the giveaway part.

You really want to make your prize something so appealing and desirable that people feel like it's worth their time to go through the steps for entering your giveaway.

There are so many giveaways these days, it's not enough to just offer a $25 value prize anymore.

Try to get your value of your prize to around $100. The more you can make the value, the better.

Don't forget, the value is the retail price you've set for those products you're giving away. The cost to actually make those products should be just a fraction of that total value.

If you need to, you can definitely bundle a few products together to get to that $100 value price point.

Your Graphics

When you're creating your graphic or image to post on Facebook for the giveaway, you want to really make sure it is attention grabbing and eye-catching.

Put the word GIVEAWAY on the image itself, so people know right away it's a giveaway. If you don't put the word on your image, and you just had it in your description, you're going to miss out on a lot of people who didn't read your description.

The image is what gets people to stop what they're doing and take notice. Then when they're interested, they'll read your post.

You also want your image to be a really good picture of the products you're giving away.

Your Timeline

You don't want your giveaway to take up too much time. Do it anywhere from 3-5 days.

Any longer and people aren't going to join because they have to wait too long. Too few days and you won't have enough time to promote your giveaway and get more entries.

So much of what sets apart a successful giveaway and a total flop, are these three things.

  1. Your prize
  2. Your giveaway image
  3. The duration of your giveaway

Advertising Your Giveaway

Now that you've got those things set up, you can post it on your Facebook page.

You want to be sure you put this on your Facebook business page (to learn how to set up your business page, click here) and not a group or your personal profile.

How to Enter The Giveaway

Now, for the steps to enter the giveaway. You're going to tell people they need to click a link to go off Facebook where they'll land on a page that asks them for their email address.

This is how people enter. Any other way and they won't be qualified to win.

This is a pretty big step we're asking people to do because it takes more effort to go off the Facebook platform and enter their email address than it does to comment on the post (which is what most giveaways ask for).

The best part is you don't even have to ask for likes, shares, and comments. Giveaway posts automatically have that effect and people will want to naturally like, share and comment (even if you didn't ask them to).

So you'll need to have a landing page set up where you can collect people's email addresses. MailerLite can do this for you.

Bonus Tip #1

If you want your giveaway to go viral organically, use an app like Gleam.io or ViralSweep.

These apps have a feature where after someone enters your giveaway by putting in their email address, they are given the opportunity to collect more points by sharing the giveaway with their friends.

The more people they can get to join your giveaway, the more points they get, therefore increasing their chances of winning the giveaway.

These apps aren't free, but when you're making sales from this Giveaway Funnel strategy, you'll see how it might be worthwhile to pay a small amount to make this giveaway go big.

When the Giveaway is Over

Now you've got people in your email list. When the giveaway is over, all you need to do is send a broadcast email to everyone who joined from the giveaway to announce the winner.

Give some simple instructions for how you want them to contact you with their shipping address.

You'll also want to include a coupon code that expires in 48 hours for everyone else who didn't win.

Make this coupon code as attractive as you can. 20% is a pretty good amount for most shop owners.

The key to making sales using this strategy is to promote your giveaway as much as you can on Facebook.

Bonus Tip #2

If you have a small budget of like $25, $50, you can turn your giveaway post into an ad and get it seen by more people.

Again, I know it'll cost money, but think about it this way: the more people join your giveaway, the more sales you'll make at the end of it.

Make it worth your time.

If you don't go all in, you may not get as great results and not as many sales as you could make.

This strategy works best with Facebook but it can also work well on Instagram. Let me know if you have ANY questions about this Giveaway Funnel strategy in the comments below.
